therapeutic Intensives

Why consider an Intensive?

Find more immediate relief from distress and relational conflict so that you create momentum in your recovery and experience lasting change.

Intensives can have advantages over weekly therapy.

For couples trying to heal from infidelity or addiction, or individuals with symptoms of traumatic stress, weekly therapy can feel like it is not enough to move you through the overwhelming emotions and experiences of the daunting recovery. For some people, the phases of these recoveries can feel intolerable if they are drawn out over time. A therapeutic intensive designed to focus on a specific phase of recovery can help keep an individual or couple experience relief and recovery from distressing symptoms or relational rupture more quickly than weekly talk therapy.

What will happen at the intensive?

Individual and single couple intensives are structured based on the unique needs of the situation. We use a phased model of recovery that is based on the research of addiction, traumatic stress, grief, and infidelity recovery. This helps us identify the best interventions that will move the client forward for their specific phase of recovery. Your intensive will be custom designed for you and specifically to tackle the roadblocks you are facing. We utilize trauma treatment modalities in our intensives to maximize the healing experienced by each of our clients.

Types of intensives that are typical include disclosure intensives with a polygraph, griefwork intensives, intensives for working through shame, and relational dynamics intensives.
